Human Cortex

The first phase of this project has completed and includes ISH data for approximately 1000 genes in both visual cortex and temporal cortex from non-diseased adult male and female subjects. Genes in this dataset comprise several categories of broad scientific and clinical interest: cortical cell type markers, disease-related genes, genes identified from comparative genomics literature, and gene families important to neural function such as ion channels, G-protein-coupled receptors, and transporters.

The second phase of this study has begun and includes a focused set of genes in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) across a larger cohort. In the current release, gene expression data in the DLPFC is available in non-diseased subjects. Future release will contain data for this brain region in schizophrenic subjects.
